After many years of service, this stop valve of a steam turbine needed to be replaced. Using 3D scanning, our customer made a 3D model of the defective valve housing.
Due to a good follow-up and combination of different techniques, a completely new and finished valve body could be installed at the customer a few weeks later.
We had a casting system designed and the sand shape was modularly constructed by means of 3D sand printing.
The valve is cast in steel G17CrMoV5-10.
A fine example of reverse engineering.
